Iga Swiatek vs Lesia Tsurenko Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA French Open
by Daniel Ngulu in Tennis Predictions
Court Suzanne Lenglen at the French Open will on Monday host the fourth-round tie between Iga Swiatek and Lesia Tsurenko. Top seed Swiatek is the defending champion here, and has twice won this major. She looks primed to succeed again on account of how dominant she has been on her fifth appearance at the tournament. The Czech has won all three matches so far, without dropping a set. She has won at least one set in each match without conceding a game. In the last round, Swiatek dominated the unseeded Wang Xinyu delivering a double bagel win in under one hour. Despite her dominance, Swiatek has dropped down to second place in the live ranking. This is due to her losing 1760 ranking points. The 22-year-old has won both encounters with Tsurenko which have all been on clay. The latest came at the Rome Masters where she won 2-0.
Lesia Tsurenko started her French Open campaign ranked 66th in the world but she has since moved up to number 43 in the live ranking. This is the highest she has been ranked all season. The Ukrainian is in the fourth round for the second time here and the first time since 2018. She has however never gone past this stage. The 34-year-old is also yet to drop a set in Paris. She defeated Bianca Andreescu in the last round 6-1, 6-1. This was her 28th win of the season and eighth on clay. Her highlight remains the run to the final in Hua Hin in February. The prize for the winner here is a quarter final game against either Cori Gauff or Anna Karolina Schmiedlova

Our Iga Swiatek vs Lesia Tsurenko Prediction
Though experienced, Tsurenko has never beaten Swiatek in past encounters. She will still find it tough here. While Swiatek has the edge as the defending champion, Tsurenko will push her. Both players haven't dropped sets but that could change here. Our prediction for Iga Swiatek v Lesia Tsurenko is for Swiatek to win but drop a set.
