Iga Swiatek vs Jil Teichmann Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Adelaide

Fifth seeded Iga Swiatek has a good chance here to reach her first final of 2021. The 19-year-old takes on unseeded Jil Teichmann for a place in the final of the Adelaide Classic, The winner of this semi-final faces either second seeded Belinda Bencic or Coco Gauff in the final. Swiatek won the French Open last year but only made it to the last sixteen in the recent Australian Open. A three-set loss to second seed Simona Halep was no disgrace. This tournament has seen the Polish player win three matches without dropping a set. 11 games were dropped in her first two matches, then she took on Danielle Collins in the last eight. Collins had beaten world number one Ashleigh Barty in the previous round. However, Swiatek took the first set against Collins 6-2 and was 3-0 up in the second when her opponent retired due to a back injury.

Jil Tiechmann is ranked 61st in the world, 43 places below her opponent. The Swiss player has only once made it past the first round of a Grand Slam.  Last year saw her reach the final of the Top Seed Open held in the USA. Now she hopes to reach another final. The 2021 Australian Open saw her lose in the first round to Coco Gauff.  She'd also lost to the young American in the warm-up Gippsland Trophy. Tiechmann will be hoping that she'll get a third match with Gauff in the final of this tournament.  Her early exit allowed her to take part in the Phillip Island Trophy last week. She reached the last eight losing to Marie Bouzkova.  This tournament has gone well for the Swiss player but she hasn't had to face a seeded player until now. Her last two wins have both been three set battles. This is her toughest match to date and the best bet is on under 20.5 games to be played.
