Iga Swiatek vs Jessica Pegula Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA French Open

Top seed Iga Swiatek bids to continue her unbeaten run. Can 11th seed Jessica Pegula be the one to finally beat her? The pair meet in the women’s singles quarter finals with the winner up against either Daria Kasatkina or Veronika Kudermetova in the last four. It was in mid-February that Swiatek last lost a match. That was to Jelena Ostapenko in Dubai. Since then, the Pole has won 32 matches in a row, won five titles and become the world number one. The 20-year-old had a reasonably easy route to the last 16 but then ran into problems against unseeded Zheng Qinwen. The first set was lost on a tie-break but Swiatek then won the next two sets for the loss of only two games and that included her third 6-0 set of the tournament. Swiatek has had two previous matches against Pegula and the score is 1-1. Pegula beat the Pole three years ago  (when her opponent was the world number 66) but Swiatek had a convincing straight sets win in the Miami semi-final this year. This is their first match on clay.

Jessica Pegula is the first seed that Swiatek has had to face in this year's French Open. The American may be seeded only 11th but that makes her the second highest remaining seed in the women's singles at Roland Garros. Pegula is up to ninth in the live rankings and in terms of ranking points earned this year, only her opponent and Ons Jabeur have more than her in 2022. This is her first time past the third round at Roland Garros but her second straight last eight appearance in Grand Slams hence her high placing in the WTA Race. Wins at Roland Garros have come against Wang Qiang, Anhelina Kalinina, Tamara Zidansek (seeded 24th) and Irina-Camilia Begu. The latter saw her have to come from a set down to make the last eight.  Swiatek is the overwhelming favourite to win this tournament, especially with so many seeds knocked out. Go for her to win this in straight sets.
