Iga Swiatek vs Daria Kasatkina Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA French Open

Top seed Iga Swiatek faces 20th seeded Daria Kasatkina in the Roland Garros semi-final. Swiatek actually lost a set in the last 16 but battled back to win the next two against Zheng Qinwen for the loss of just two games. Normal service was resumed in the quarter finals as Swiatek beat 11th seed (the second highest seed left in the women's singles) in straight sets. That made it 33 in a row for Swiatek and she'll be confident of it becoming 35 when lifting her second French Open trophy on Saturday. Swiatek last lost a match in February and is bidding to make it six titles won in succession. The Pole has had four previous matches against Kasatkina and three of them have taken place this year. Swiatek has won all three in straight sets and only lost 11 games. The only win for Kasatkina was on grass at Eastbourne, England and that was last year.

In that win on grass, Kasatkina only lost one game after going a set down. We're on clay now and this is the first meeting between the pair on clay. Kasatkina is up to 12th in the live rankings and a win over Swiatek would take her to eighth. She's had a strong 2022 and is currently sixth in the WTA Race, though she's earned less than a third of the number of ranking points her opponent has. Kasatkina is following up a semi-final appearance at Rome last month. Two seeds have been beaten by her so far with wins over 28th seeded Camila Giorgi and the number 29 seed Veronika Kudermetova in the quarter finals. Only 24 games have been dropped by Kasatkina at Roland Garros this year but this is going to be the ultimate test for her. Back Swiatek to win this in straight sets.
