Iga Swiatek bids to win her first tournament since last year's French Open triumph. The fifth seeded Pole takes on Belinda Bencic from Switzerland who is the second seed for the Adelaide Classic. Swiatek reached the last sixteen of the Australian Open losing to second seeded Simona Halep. She has been in great form in this tournament with not a single set being dropped. Only 18 games have been lost by her and she easily won her semi-final against Jil Tiechmann 6-3 6-2. When she gets in this dominating form, Swiatek is very difficult to beat indeed.

Belinda Bencic  has had a difficult year so far. She lost in her first match in the Grampian Trophy and then lost in the third round of the Australian Open. Bencic had two three-setters in that Grand Slam before only winning three games when being beaten by Elise Mertens. Her form has improved this week with her first two matches both being won in straight sets. They were against a lucky loser and a qualifier. It got a lot tougher for her in the semi-final (her first since 2019) as she had to go to three sets to beat Coco Gauff, two of the sets going to tie breaks. That match lasted nearly three hours and must have taken something out of Bencic. Go for Swiatek to get the win in this final.
