Iga Swiatek vs Anhelina Kalinina Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Indian Wells

Iga Swiatek is the third seed at Indian Wells. After the withdrawal of Barbora Krejcikova, only Aryna Sabalenka is seeded higher than the Polish player. Swiatak takes on the Ukranian Anhelina Kalinina in the second round with the winner up against either 29th seeded Clara Tauson or Beatriz Haddad Maia in the last 32. Swiatak is fourth in the world rankings but only Ashleigh Barty (not playing this tournament) has earned more ranking points than her this year. 2022 has seen Swiatek win 14 of her 17 matches with two semi-finals reached (one being the Australian Open) and in her last event, she won the Doha title.

Anhelina Kalinina is the world number 50 and that's just two places below her best ranking of 48th earned in January. This is only her fourth tournament of the year, the other three all being played in Australia. The Ukranian lost in the first round in Melbourne, the second round in Adelaide and to Jessica Pegula in three sets in the Australian Open first round. Two matches had to be played to qualify for the main draw of this tournament. Wins came over Reese Brantmeier and Wang Qiang without dropping a set. The first round saw her beat Clara Buel, again in straight sets. This is her second appearance at Indian Wells but the first time past round one.  Facing Swiatek is a big step up though, go for the Pole to win in straight sets.
