Iceland take on Hungary in their final match of Group C. They have three points from their first two games but trail their opponents by one point. Their opening match saw them lose a lead against Serbia and only draw the match. They couldn't afford to make more mistakes against Montenegro on Sunday but it was another tight match. They went into the break two goals ahead but their opponents fought back in the second half. Iceland just held on to win 31-30. They have now won eight of their last nine games with the other being that draw against Serbia. Iceland (who finished sixth in the 2022 European Championships) last lost against the Czech Republic in the qualifying rounds for this tournament.

Hungary top the group and have qualified for the main round. They began this group with a 26-24 win over Montenegro. The scores were level at half time but the Hungarians impressed in the second half to get the win. That was followed by a match against Serbia on Sunday evening and again it was a close game. Hungary managed to win it 28-27 to make it four wins in their last five matches. They qualified for these finals by winning their group ahead of Switzerland, Georgia and Lithuania, winning five of their six matches. Their only defeat came at home to Georgia, losing by a single goal. The Hungarians reached the quarter finals of the 2023 World Championships and finished 15th in the 2022 Euros. This looks like being another close match and we tip Iceland to get the win.
