Australia - Netherlands Predictions & Betting tips - ICC Men's Cricket World Cup

We have reached the halfway point of the 2023 Cricket World Cup, and match 24 of 48 will see Australia take on the Netherlands on Wednesday. The Aussies are in fourth place with four points, while the Dutch are eighth with two points after four matches. The Baggy Greens got their 2023 CWC campaign started in the worst way possible. They were comprehensively beaten by both India and South Africa in their first two matches. At that point, many were expecting them to go crashing out of the tournament. However, you can never write off the Aussies in World Cups. They have found their way back into the top four courtesy of back-to-back wins against Sri Lanka and, more recently, Pakistan. Against the Men in Green, Australia also finally seemed to find their form with the bat, with David Warner and Mitchell Marsh both scoring centuries for the first time in the competition. Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers, taking four wickets for the second match in a row. Unsurprisingly, Pat Cummins’ side are overwhelming favourites to win this match. 

While the Netherlands were not given much of a chance coming into this competition, it is fair to say they have been extremely competitive. They lost their first two matches of the competition to New Zealand and Pakistan, both by under 100 runs. But that was before the Dutch recorded the biggest upset of the competition to date when they beat South Africa in their third match by 38 runs. They then followed up with another excellent showing against Sri Lanka last week, setting them a target of 262, which the Lions chased down with only ten balls to spare. What has been most impressive about the Netherlands in this competition has been the contributions of several of their players rather than relying on just a few key individuals. Colin Ackerman has arguably been the standout, with notable performances with both bat and ball in hand. However, they have never beaten the Aussies before, but can they pull off their second huge upset of the tournament in this one?
