Fourth seed Hubert Hurkacz and the unseeded Ugo Humbert will on Saturday square off in the semifinals at the Swiss Indoors tournament. The winner will then play either Holger Rune or Felix Auger-Aliassime for the title. Hubert Hurkacz defeated Tallon Griekspoor in three sets to advance to this round. Losing his first set of the tournament, Hurkacz had to come from a losing position to win. The Pole is now through to his second semifinal in the last three tournaments. He will now hope for the same outcome as in Shanghai where he went on to win his second title of the year. Hurkacz, who is ranked 11th in the ATP, is chasing a place in the ATP Finals in Turin. He is currently ranked 10th in the live race and can move up to one place if he triumphs in Basel. Hurkacz defeated Humbert in their only other previous meeting which was last season in Halle.

Ugo Humbert overcame the challenge of crowd favourite Dominic Stricker in the quarterfinals. He won in three sets to register his 44th win of the season. Humbert has been in good form in recent weeks. He has won eight of his last 10 matches and two of those victories have come against players in the ATP top 10. The Frenchman, who has won two challenger titles, has however lost the two semifinals he has contested at tour level this year. He will hope the form that he is in doesn’t allow the same fate to befall him here. The 25-year-old has moved up two places in the live ranking to 25th.
