Hubert Hurkacz of Poland will play Tomas Machac of the Czech Republic in group play at the 2025 United Cup. This will be in the Men’s Singles match in Group B. Read on for our prediction. Hurkacz lost his opening Singles match against Casper Ruud by straight sets.

The Poles, who began their tournament against Norway, were, however, able to win the tie 2-1. This is after they claimed the Women’s Singles and Mixed Doubles fixtures.

Hurkacz will hope to find his footing as Poland seek to advance to the knockout rounds as group winners. The 27-year-old finished the 2024 season with a 40-19 record. One of his victories was a straight-sets success over Machac in Marseille.

Tomas Machac also began his tournament with a loss and will be out to make an immediate response here. The 24-year-old put up a spirited fight against world number six Casper Ruud but ultimately lost 2-1.

His country would nonetheless secure victory in their tie with the Norwegians thanks to wins in the Women’s Singles and Mixed Doubles.

The Czech currently sit in first place in Group B, already assured of passage to the knockout rounds.

Machac improved tremendously during the 2024 campaign and finished ranked 25th in the world which is a career-high.
