Eleventh seed Hubert Hurkacz will seek his first victory against unseeded Grigor Dimitrov when they meet on Friday at the Paris Masters. The two will battle in the quarterfinals with the winner playing either Stefanos Tsitsipas or Karen Khachanov for a place in the final. Hubert Hurkacz has won his last two rounds here without dropping a set. In the third round, he defeated Francisco Cerundolo by the loss of seven games. The Pole is now one win away from equaling his best-ever result here. Hurkacz has lost all three meetings with Dimitrov and will be eager to halt this losing run. The form he is in at the moment will have him confident of doing so. Hurkacz has won 13 of his last 15 matches and has made the final in two of his last three tournaments. This purple patch has allowed him to move back into the ATP top 10 where he is ranked ninth in the live ranking. Hurkacz is in contention for a place in the ATP Finals later on this month.

Grigor Dimitrov has no chance of making it to the year-end tournament in Turin. This however should not stop him from targeting a title run here. The Bulgarian, who is also a former Paris semifinalist, has been in exquisite form in recent outings. He has won eight of his last 10 matches and two of those have come against players in the current ATP top 3. Dimitrov defeated world number three Daniil Medvedev in three sets in the second round here. To advance to this round, he got the better of Alexander Bublik to earn his first 2-0 victory in this tournament. The 32-year-old is ranked 17th in the world and advancing to the semifinals will bump him up two places in the live ranking.
