Sweden are up against Hungary in the quarter-finals of the women's Olympic handball. Next up for the winners will be a semi-final against either France or Germany. Who will make it through and keep alive their chances of winning a medal? Find out in our prediction.
Sweden have only once made it past the quarter finnals and that was three years ago in Tokyo. To qualify for this quarter-final, Sweden finished second behind Norway in Group A with eight points from their five matches.
Their first two games against Norway and Germany were both won but then they were beaten by Denmark. The Swedes got back on track with a win over South Korea and that saw them through to the knockout stages with a game to spare.
Sweden won their final group match with a 27-23 win over Slovenia. That was despite trailing by three goals at the break. They have beaten Hungary in two of their last three matches but were beaten by them in the Olympic qualifying rounds.
Hungary finished third in their group with five points from as many matches. They lost their opening match but that was no disgrace as it was to France who won all their group fixtures. The Hungarians bounced back with a tight win over Brazil.
They won that match by a single goal but trailed by three at the break. Their shaky start continued with a draw against Angola but then beat Spain to get back on track. Their final group match saw them lose to the Netherlands by four goals. We tip Sweden to win this on a -2.5 goals handicap.
