Sweden take on Hungary in Group I of the Women's European Handball Championships main round. The Swedes need to win their final two group games to have any chance of making the semi-finals. They are fourth in this main round group with only two points. Their final two games are against Hungary and Croatia, who are the bottom two teams in the group and can't qualify. The Swedes won Group B in the preliminary round with wins over Serbia and Slovenia. The latter are in third place in this main round group. Sweden lost to Denmark who are currently second in this group, four points ahead of Sweden. The Swedes lost to leaders Norway in their first match in this group.
Hungary are bottom of this group without a single point and can't qualify for the semi-finals. The Hungarians finished third in their preliminary group with one victory and two defeats. They began with a win over Switzerland but then lost to both Croatia and Norway. With Switzerland eliminated, Hungary didn't carry any points into this main round group. They then lost to Denmark and look set to again be defeated in this match. Back Sweden to win.
