Hugo Gaston vs Sebastian Korda Prediction & Betting Tips - Moselle Open

Unseeded pair Hugo Gaston and Sebastian Korda face each other in the first round of the Moselle Open. The winner of this tie has a tough second round match awaiting them with third seeded Lorenzo Musetti the scheduled opponent. Korda is ranked 49th in the current list but was as high as 30th in May of this year. The American didn't get past the third round in the three Grand Slams he played this year. His last tournament was the US Open and in the second round, he led Tommy Paul two sets to one but ended up losing in the final set. Korda got to the last eight in Washington and beat future US Open semi-finalist Frances Tiafoe in the Cincinnati Masters. That avenged a loss to Tiafoe in the Estoril semi-finals. He's had one previous match against Gaston and that was in the NextGen finals in 2021 with Korda winning in five sets, each the first to four games.

Hugo Gaston has been as high as 58th in the rankings but was down to 85th in the list published on September 12. The French player also didn't get past the third round of a Grand Slam in 2022. He lost to Alexander Bublik in the US Open first round, his fourth straight loss on the ATP Tour. His last win came in the Montreal Masters when beating Gabriel Diallo who was ranked 669th at the time. His opponent retired and the last two Gaston wins have both come in that fashion. He's reached one quarter final this year, that was on grass in the Netherlands just before Wimbledon.  Korda can be backed to win this and make the second round.
