Hugo Gaston vs Jan-Lennard Struff Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP European Open

Unseeded Hugo Gaston will seek his second victory against second seed Jan-Lennard Struff when they on Thursday in Antwerp. The winner of this second-round fixture will next play one of Maximilian Marterer, Nuno Borges, or Dominik Koepfer. Gaston defeated Struff in their first-ever meeting back in April in Marrakech and will be out to double his advantage. The Frenchman, who is making his European Open debut, defeated compatriot Arthur Rinderknech 2-0 in the first round. The win was his fourth in six outings on indoor hard courts in 2023. Gaston has compiled a 39-27 record and won two challenger titles. He is currently ranked 92nd in the live ranking after making a four-place leap.

Struff has been in woeful form in recent weeks and arrives here having lost his last three matches. He has been defeated in his tournament opener in his last two events with the last being in Shanghai. He will hope a two-week break since his last match will have him rejuvenated. Struff is having an excellent campaign, his best in seven years in terms of number of matches won. He has compiled a 42-20 record and the last time he won more was in 2016 when he managed 50. The German has however struggled on indoor hard courts and has lost two of his four matches. Struff, ranked 27th in the ATP, has two runner-up finishes thus far. The two-time Antwerp quarterfinalist is back here after a two-year hiatus.
