The Houston Rockets will welcome the Orlando Magic for their first meeting of the 2024/25 NBA season. The Rockets arrive for this game as the fifth seed in the West, whereas the Magic are eighth in the East. Read on for our prediction of this match.

The Rockets have won their last two games, which has allowed them to snap a three-match skid. Ime Udoka’s men had a superb first half of the season, but approaching the All-Star break, they began to crumble.

The Rockets, who have compiled a 39-25 record, haven’t won more than two matches in a row since January. They have been defeated in 11 of their last 18 games, and this return has seen them drop from second in the West.

They are coming off a back-to-back with the Pelicans, and won the last game 146-117.

The Orlando Magic were finally able to return to winning ways last time out. Jamahl Mosley’s men snapped a five-game losing streak with a shock 111-109 victory away to the in-form Bucks.

The result kept them from tumbling out of the top bracket in the play-in places. Orlando have a huge battle if they are to avoid the play-in to make the playoffs. They have compiled a 30-35 record and are six games behind the top six.
