After a long hard season, we finally reach the World Series as Houston Astros take on the Washington Nationals. It's a best-of-seven series with Houston having the first two games and matches six and seven (if we get that far) played on home soil. They won American League West with 107 victories taking them into the play-offs as the team with the most wins in the regular season. The Division Series saw them beat Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 needing to win a decider after losing a 2-0 lead. That took the Astros into the Championship Series where they got a 4-2 win over the New York Yankees despite losing the first match 7-0. That took Houston through to their second World Series in the space of three years after winning the title in 2017.

Washington Nationals are through to their first World Series and not since 1933 has a team from Washington reached this stage. They will hope to do better than the Senators who lost 4-1 to the New York Giants. The Nationals finished second in the National League East with a 93-69 record. That took them into the wild card round where they got a win over the Milwaukee Brewers. They shocked the LA Dodgers 3-2 to reach the Championship Series where they walloped St Louis Cardinals 4-0. The Astros are the deserved favourites to win the World Series and with home advantage (they had 60 home wins in the regular season) can go 1-0 up in the series.
