Holger Rune vs Felix Auger Aliassime Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Beijing Open

Holger Rune will take on Felix Auger Aliassime on Thursday in a mouth-watering first round draw at the ATP China Open. This match will see the world number five face the world’s 15th-ranked player. The winner of the match will move on to face either Mackenzie McDonald or Grigor Dimitrov in round two. The head-to-head is tied one each. Rune began the 2023 season brilliantly, but he seems to have hit a bit of a rough patch. Despite defending his Munich Open title and reaching two other ATP tournament finals, Rune now finds himself on a five-match losing streak. The hard court has never been his favourite surface, but the Dane’s form of late is sure to have him concerned.  His last win was over two months ago in the fourth round of Wimbledon. Since then, he has exited in the first round in Toronto, Cincinnati, the US Open, and the Davis Cup. Still, his ability is unquestionable, but it will be interesting to see if he can overcome his poor run of form. 

Meanwhile, it has not been all smooth sailing for Felix Auger-Aliassime either. The Canadian, while still inside the top 15, has seen a notable drop after starting the year ranked sixth. Like his opponent, Auger-Aliassime’s record of late is far from impressive, with just one win in his last five matches. That came in Cincinnati over Matteo Berrettini. His record for the year is now 15-15 and 11-10 on the hard surface. He has also only reached one semi-final and three quarter-finals this season. The Canadian has a better hard surface record over the years and does favour the surface above any other. As a result, he is the favourite in this match.
