Holger Rune vs Andrey Rublev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Monte Carlo Masters

Fifth seeded Andrey Rublev bids to win the Monte Carlo Masters for the first time. He takes on the seventh seed Jannik Sinner in the final of this outdoor clay court tournament. Rublev is in his second final in three years but lost the 2021 Monte Carlo Masters final to Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Russian can’t climb any higher than the sixth place he currently holds in the rankings. Even so, winning this title would give him a massive boost on the road to Roland Garros. Rublev is seventh in the Live ATP Race but a win over Rune will see him rise to fifth place. He reached the semi-final for the loss of one set. He lost another one on Saturday though as Taylor Fritz took the opening set. He bounced back well though and only lost four games in the following two sets. Rublev has had two previous meetings with Rune and the score is level at 1-1. Both have been on hard courts with Rublev winning the most recent at this year's Australian Open.

Holger Rune began the Monte Carlo Masters ranked ninth in the world. He’s up to a career high seventh in the live rankings and beating Rublev would see him go up to sixth above his opponent. He's 11th in the ATP Race but winning this title will take him to seventh. Rune is in his first final of the year having lost in the semi-finals in both Acapulco and Montpellier. He’s never previously made it past the second round of this tournament but did reach the last eight at Roland Garros last year. He also won a clay court event held in Bavaria last year as he began his rise up the rankings. This is his fifth ATP Tour final since that win and his second in Masters events, having won the 2022 Paris Masters. Rune has won three matches to get to this final with wins over Dominic Thiem, Daniil Medvedev and in the last four, Jannik Sinner in three sets. He had to come from behind to beat Sinner after winning just one game in the opening set. That was a late finish on Saturday due to the weather and that might just affect him. Back over 22.5 games to be played in the final.
