Harriet Dart vs Veronika Kudermetova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Japan Open

Harriet Dart, qualifier, will on Tuesday seek her first victory over eighth seed Veronika Kudermetova in Tokyo. The two will battle at the Toray Pan Pacific Open with the winner playing Kayla Day in the second round. Harriet Dart is in good form at the moment as she has won five of her last six matches. She will hope this form allows her to subdue Kudermetova in their fourth career meeting. The Briton defeated Oskana Kalashnikova in straight sets to book her place in the main draw in what is her debut here. Dart has had a rocky campaign and has so far won only four more matches than the 25 she has lost. The majority of her wins have come on hard court but so too have most of her defeats. Dart has started the week up eight places to 141st in the live ranking.

Veronika Kudermetova is ranked more than 120 places above Dart in the live ranking. The Russian number two is currently ranked 19th in the world. This is however the lowest she has ranked so far this season which is all down to her inconsistencies. Kudermetova has compiled a 27-19 record and has won 12 matches on hard court. This is also the same number of fixtures she has lost on the surface. The one-time Tokyo semifinalist has also been defeated four times in her last five outings including in her last match. This was on hard court in the second round in Guadalajara. But as she has never lost to Dart before, Kudermetova will be confident of a winning start to her second appearance in Tokyo.
