Nuria Parrizas Diaz, unseeded, and the qualifier Harriet Dart will battle in the quarterfinals at the Transylvania Open. The winner will then play either Camila Osorio, Karolina Pliskova, Sara Errani, or Tatjana Maria in the semifinals. Harriet Dart defeated Elisabetta Cocciarretto in three sets in the second round. Nuria Parrizas Diaz has won two of the last three meetings with Dart. The most recent victory came a month ago in the final in Canberra in the challenger circuit. She won in straight sets to lift the title. The Spaniard has also won nine matches in 2024 with four of her wins coming on indoor hard courts. Diaz also battled through three sets in her last match. She defeated third seed Anna Blinkova in one hour and 50 minutes. Diaz is also a decent indoor hardcourt performer and has so far compiled a 28-22 record on the surface. Advancing to this round has nudged her 11 places in the live ranking to number 121.
