Third seed Dominic Stricker and sixth seed Hamad Medjedovic will play each other in the semifinals at the Next Gen Finals on Friday. He won in four sets to register his 46th victory of the season. Ten of those wins have come in 15 outings on indoor hard courts. Medjedovic, who finished the year as the 110th-ranked player in the world, has won three challenger titles.

Dominic Sticker has also been a challenger champion this season and managed two titles at the level. The 21-year-old was in fine form in the run-up to this tournament but has since found the going tough. He has managed only one win here and narrowly qualified for the last four. The Swiss youngster lost in four sets to Arthur Fils in his last match. But as he won a set in the match, he qualified ahead of Flavio Coboli who had defeated him on matchday one. Stricker has compiled a 37-24 record and has won eight of 11 matches on outdoor hard courts. He finished the season ranked 16 places above Medjedovic in the ATP rankings. Stricker lost in the semifinals of this competition last season.
