Alexander Bublik is the third seed in Stuttgart's BOSS Open and plays unseeded Hamad Medjedovic in round two. He received a bye into the second round of this outdoor grass court tournament. The winner goes into the last eight and the scheduled seeded opponent is fifth seed Lorenzo Musetti. Bublik is 17th in the live rankings and that's his career-high. The 26-year-old is 21st in the ATP Live Race and has reached one hard court final this year. He'll be hoping for another good season on grass courts. Last year saw him win the Halle Open (beating Andrey Rublev in the final) and getting to the fourth round at Wimbledon. He's also twice made it to the final of the US Hall of Fame Open that is played on grass.

Hamad Medjedovic is down at 131st in the latest ATP rankings. He received a wild card to play in this tournament but had a tough first round match. The first set against unseeded Fabian Maorzsan was lost on a tie-break. He fought back well though and only lost four games in the next two sets and is up to 120th in the live rankings. The Serb has only played at Wimbledon once and failed to get past the first round last year after winning three qualifying matches. Only once this year has he won two matches in the main draw of an ATP Tour event and that was on clay in Rome. We tip Bublik to win this match.
