It's already been an unpredictable outdoor hard court ASB Classic in Auckland. Just four of the eight seeds remain and neither are in this match. Unseeded Hailey Baptiste takes on lucky loser Jodie Anna Burrage. Here's our match prediction.

The winner of this match will be up against either seventh seed Naomi Osaka or unseeded Julia Grabher. Baptiste was ranked 92nd at the start of this tournament but is up to 89th in the live list. 

The 23-year-old American is in her third last 16 in her last four tournaments. It's 11 months since her last quarter-final was reached and that was in Puerto Rico in a hard court event. So far this week, Baptiste has beaten wild card Renata Jamrichova in straight sets, losing only two games.

Jodie Anna Burrage is down at 179th in the latest listings but now 171st after this unlikely run to the second round in Auckland. It's unlikely because the British player lost three sets in her two qualifying round matches.

The final qualifier saw her beaten by Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (who went on to lose in round one), winning just three games. Withdrawals saw her reinstated as a lucky loser and the 25-year-old beat wild card Vivian Wang in straight sets.
