Grigor Dimitrov is the third seed and has a tough second round match in the Cinch Championships. He takes on unseeded Sebastian Korda who beat Karen Khachanov in round one. Dimitrov has no seeded players between him and a place in the semi-finals of this grass court tournament. That's because the winner of this match will be up against either qualifier Rinky Hijikata or Matteo Arnadli in the quarter-finals. Dimitrov is the world number ten and ninth in the Live ATP Race. Reaching the last four will see him move up to eighth in the latter of those lists. The Bulgarian reached round four at Wimbledon last year and made it to the semi-finals in 2014. That's also the year in which he won this tournament. Round one this year saw him defeat Adrian Mannarino for the loss of only three games. He's 1-1 in previous meetings with Korda (winning the most recent one this year) but this is their first match on grass.

Sebastian Korda is going to be a difficult opponent for the third seed. Korda reached the final of the Libema Open last weekend, losing to Alex de Minaur. That took him to a career-high equalling 23rd but he's down one place in the live rankings. He has a good record in this tournament and made it to the last four in 2023. The American had a tough first round draw but beat Karen Khachanov in straight sets. 25 games were played in those two sets. A tight match looks likely here and we go for the outsider Korda to win a set.
