Grigor Dimitrov and Lorenzo Musetti, both unseeded, will on Tuesday battle each other in the first round at the Vienna Open. The winner will then advance to play either top seed Daniil Medvedev or unseeded Arthur Fils in the second round. Grigor Dimitrov recorded his best-ever finish here last season as he made it to the semifinals. He will hope for an even deeper run this time around and his recent form will have him confident of this. The Bulgarian has won eight of his last 11 matches and has made the semifinals in two of his last three tournaments. Dimitrov is coming off a last-four exit in Shanghai. He is currently ranked 17th in the ATP and has won four of the six matches he has played on indoor hard courts.

Lorenzo Musetti is struggling with his form at the moment and has won only one of his last four matches. The Italian has lost his last two fixtures and was defeated in the first round in Shanghai in his last match. But as he has the head-to-head advantage over Dimitrov, he will fancy his chances here. The 21-year-old defeated Dimitrov in their only encounter to date two seasons ago in Acapulco. Musetti, who has compiled a nervy 32-25 record, lost his only match on indoor hard courts this year. This was in the Davis Cup where he fell to Gabriel Diallo, a player then ranked more than 100 places below him. Musetti, who is back in Vienna after two seasons, is currently ranked in 21st place in the live ranking.
