Miami Open 14th seed Grigor Dimitrov will be looking to advance at the Masters 1000 event when he takes on Brandon Nakashima. This will be a fourth round match and third meeting between them. Here we have a prediction, with the winner set to meet Casper Ruud or Francisco Cerundolo next.

Dimitrov didn’t have the easiest of passes to this round. He had to claw his way back after losing the opening set against Karen Khachanov in the third round.

His best run at this event was last season, when he reached the final, only to lose to Jannik Sinner. On his 14th Miami appearance, Dimitrov will hope to finally clinch this title.

Nakashima is the man standing between Dimitrov and a second quarter-final showing in Miami. With their head-to-head record tied at 1-1, Nakashima won the only meeting between them on a hardcourt.

That was at the US Open in 2022. He is coming from two three-set wins at Miami, beating Roberto Carballes Baena and David Goffin. The American is gunning for a third quarter-final showing in the season.

His highlight so far is reaching the Acapulco semis. This is his fifth Miami appearance and he has never made it past the fourth round. Nakashima has so far compiled a 10-7 record and is 7-4 in matches he has played in Miami.
