Grigor Dimitrov vs Andrey Rublev Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Shanghai Masters

The second semi-final of the Shanghai Masters sees 18th-seed Grigor Dimitrov taking on fifth-seeded Andrey Rublev on Saturday. The winner of this matchup will play for the title against either 16th-seed Hubert Hurkacz or 26th-seeded Sebastian Korda. Andrey Rublev has extra motivation as winning the Shanghai Masters would see him clinch a spot in the Nitto ATP Finals in November. Dimitrov, meanwhile, is some way off the top seven qualification spots in 16th-place. 

It’s been a fine tournament for Dimitrov as he eyes his first tournament win of 2023. The Bulgarian had previously made it to the final of the Geneva Open back in May but finished as the runner-up to Nicolas Jarry. Dimitrov was able to exact revenge over Jarry in the previous round, recording a straight sets victory over the Chilean to advance to this stage. His most notable win in this tournament is undoubtedly the comeback 2-1 victory over the red-hot world number two Carlos Alcaraz in the fourth-round. Dimitrov has put together a solid run of form in the China circuit, making the semi-finals of the Chengdu Open and the quarter-finals of the Beijing Open prior to this event.

ATP seventh-ranked Andrey Rublev was able to get some revenge of his own in this tournament, knocking out Ugo Humbert in the quarters to advance to the final four. Humbert eliminated Rublev in the Beijing Open in the second round two weeks prior. Rublev has been on a roll as of late and has yet to lose a set in this tournament. He recorded wins over the previously mentioned Humbert, as well as Tommy Paul, Adrian Mannarino and Quentin Halys. The 25-year-old Russian pro has now won five of his last six overall and has posted an impressive record of 49 wins and 20 losses in 2023.
