Great Britain vs Australia Prediction & Betting Tips - United Cup

Australia are the hosts of the United Cup and begin their campaign in Group B with a match against Great Britain. The other team in this group are the USA so it's a pretty tough line-up. The winners are assured a place in the last eight knockout round plus the best runner-up in Perth and Sydney where the groups are being played. This is the second year of the United Cup with the USA being the defending champions. It's a team competition played on hard courts that sees both male and female players included. There's a men's and women's singles match and if the score is level at 1-1 then there'll be a deciding mixed singles match. These two countries met in the group stages of the inaugural United Cup with the match being won by Great Britain 3-2 when a longer format was used. Great Britain went on to lose to the American side in the City final.

The two singles matches will see Cameron Norrie (ranked 18th) taking on Australia's world number 12 Alex de Minaur. Norrie has lost two of his three matches against de Minaur and had a poor end to the 2023 ATP season with five of his last six matches being lost. His opponent has reached the quarter finals in two of his last three singles tournaments and reached three finals. This match will be followed by a women's singles between Great Britain's Katie Boulter and Australia's Ajla Tomljanovic. Boulter had a good 2023 season rising up the rankings. The Australian won a WTA125 event last month but is down at 290th in the rankings after injury but did get to 32nd earlier this year. We believe Australia can win both of the singles matces to win the tie.
