Two of the top four teams in the Euroleague meet on Wednesday evening. Fourth placed Virtus Bologna play host to Barcelona hoping to improve their recent Euroleague form. The Italians come into this game with a 7-4 record, compared to Barcelona's 9-2. Virtus will be going all out to get back into winning ways in this game. Their most recent Euroleague fixture saw them lose by 14 points at Bayern, despite taking an eight point lead after the first quarter. That loss in Germany was their third in the last five Euroleague fixtures. They've also suffered losses to leaders Real Madrid and Panathinaikos who are currently fifth in the table. Domestically, Virtus Bologna are top of Lega A but have lost two of their last five games. Home form in Euroleague this season has seen them win five of their six games with the only loss being to Zalgiris Kaunas in early October.

Barcelona are second in the table behind Real Madrid who have won one more game than them. The Spanish side are bidding to make it four Euroleague wins in a row. Their most recent game saw them beat Lyon by nine points. Before that they'd had successes over Valencia and Maccabi Tel Aviv. On the road, Barcelona have won three of their five games. The two defeats came at Real Madrid (only by a point) and Baskonia. In the Spanish ACB they are third in the table with a 9-3 season record and won their last two games by a combined 48-point margin. This looks like being a tight match but Barcelona are more consistent and can get the victory.
