The Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves will face off at the Chase Center for the second time in three days on Monday morning. The Warriors (13-9) are fifth in the Western Conference while the Timberwolves (12-10) are two places behind them in seventh. Here’s our match prediction. 

The Golden State Warriors have been slipping in the conference standings lately and suffered their sixth defeat in seven with the 107-90 loss to this opponent on Saturday. 

Stephen Curry and Draymond Green both returned for the match but the team went behind in the second quarter and were never able to find their range to close the deficit. 

The Warriors are now outside the top 10 in the scoring charts, averaging 114.1 points per game, but they are seventh on the defensive end, allowing 109.3 PPG. 

In contrast, the Minnesota Timberwolves are steadily climbing up the Western Conference standings and are now aiming for a fifth win on the bounce after Saturday's victory.  

Anthony Edwards top-scored with 30 points and nine assists, Rudy Gobert contributed 17 points, and Julius Randle added 16 points and nine rebounds. 

The Timberwolves are averaging 110.7 points per game (20th in the league) but they have been much better on defence, now averaging 106.6 PPG against (fourth-best in the NBA).
