Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
The struggling Warriors take on one of the Eastern Conference’s hottest teams when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Chase Center. Golden State’s championship hangover continues with the Warriors off to a 4-7 start and sitting 12th in the Western Conference. They were finally able to put an end to an ugly five game losing streak with a 116-113 home win over the Kings in their last outing. They’ll face off against the high-flying Cavs whose 8-3 record has them sitting second in the East. Cleveland will be looking to put an end to a losing streak of their own after a 127-120 loss to the Kings have made it back-to-back defeats.

Golden State Warriors - Cleveland Cavaliers: Form Analysis
The Warriors lost all five games on their recent road trip. It was only when they returned home to the Chase Center and a three point win over Sacramento in their previous game that they were able to finally put an end to the losing streak. At home, Golden State have looked like their old selves, winning four of their five matchups. They’ll hope their home form can see them over the line against a Cavs team that is surprising many with their hot start. Key to Cleveland’s success has been their own strong home form, where the Cavs are a perfect 4-0 on the season. Away from home has been a different story, with the Cavs sitting 4-3 and facing a two game road losing streak.

Golden State Warriors & Cleveland Cavaliers Squad Analysis
Steph Curry exploded for 47 points and the Warriors needed every last one in their narrow win against the Kings. It’s been a phenomenal start to the season for the reigning Finals MVP who is averaging a career best 32.6 points per game on absurdly efficient 51% shooting and 43% from three. Standing in Curry’s way is the Cavaliers, whose acquisition of Donovan Mitchell in the offseason is looking shrewder by the game. A dangerous backcourt of Mitchell, Garland and Lavert combined with the impressive Sophomore Evan Mobley and all-star center Jarret Allen will provide stiff opposition for the defending champs. Both teams come into this game relatively full-strength so it should be a fascinating matchup.
Golden State Warriors - Cleveland Cavaliers Key Points
- The Warriors average 123 points per game at home, the second highest mark in the NBA, compared to just 112.5 points per game away.
- The Cavs are 1-2 this season in games decided by three or fewer points.
- The Warriors take a significant rest advantage into this game with their last game coming on Monday while the Cavs faced the Kings on Wednesday.

Our Golden State Warriors vs Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction
We’re going to back the Golden State Warriors to win the game and cover the -2 point spread. While it is true that the Cavs looked like a completely different basketball team after the addition of Mitchell, the defending champs should be up for this game and should come in well-rested with three full days of rest. This is also the end of a five game road trip for the Cavs before they return to Cleveland and these kinds of spots are notoriously difficult for teams to deal with.
