Golden State Warriors vs Brooklyn Nets Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
The Brooklyn Nets take on the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center in San Francisco for this Sunday NBA clash. The Nets had previously been on an excellent run of form since the firing of former coach Steve Nash and the hiring of Jacque Vaughn, shooting up the Eastern Conference rankings thanks to an 13 game winning streak. However, a recent injury dealt to superstar offensive talent Kevin Durant has tanked Brooklyn’s scoring output and has resulted in them losing four of the five games that KD has missed. They were able to put an end to the losing streak in their last outing thanks to a 48 point explosion by Kyrie Irving and they will likely need a similar type of performance if they are going to keep pace with the now-healthy defending champions. Brooklyn sits fourth in the Eastern Conference with 28 wins and 17 losses, putting them six games behind the first-place Boston Celtics.
The Warriors are looking to build up some consistency with their title defense not going to plan so far. Golden State are on a run of five losses in their last eight games although they were able to earn a 120-114 home victory over a very good Cleveland team in their last outing. The Warriors are sitting at .500 with a 23-23 record, putting them sixth in the Western Conference and 10 games behind the first-place Nuggets. A large reason for their struggles has been the absence of two-time MVP and talisman Stephen Curry who only just returned to the lineup on January 10th. Since his return, the Warriors have traded a win for a loss in six consecutive games going 3-3 during that stretch. They are presented with a golden opportunity to make it two wins in a row against a Nets team without its key offensive piece. Golden State have won 17 of their 22 home games compared to just six wins from 24 away trips.

Our Golden State Warriors vs Brooklyn Nets Prediction
Durant is key to everything that the Nets do on offense. The advanced statistics prove what a key asset he is as their offensive numbers plummet across the board when the 34-year-old misses out. The Nets mercurial point guard Kyrie Irving will pose the biggest threat to the Warriors but Golden State plays better defense on their home court and should be able to contain him somewhat. Our Golden State Warriors vs Brooklyn Nets prediction: under 237 points
