Golden State Warriors vs Brooklyn Nets Prediction & Betting Tips - NBA
by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
Two of the NBA’s strongest teams and favorites to win the title square off in this matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the visiting Brooklyn Nets. The Warriors are closing out a two-week, seven game homestand and will be looking to make it six wins from seven during the stretch. Golden State has the second best record in the NBA at 36-13 and the second seed in the Western Conference but still trail the Suns by 3.5 games. To go along with their four game winning streak, the Dubs are an impressive 23-4 when playing at home. Their last game was a 124-115 win against the Timberwolves. Their opponents today have been in a bit of a funk in recent weeks. Once holding the top seed in the East, a run of three straight losses and only six victories from the last 16 games has seen the Nets drop down to fifth place in the conference. However, it is a tight race for the top seed and Brooklyn only trails the top seeded Heat by 2.5 games. Brooklyn’s last game was a 118-124 home loss to Denver, an understandable loss given the Nets were without their three star players.
Despite losing defensive lynchpin Draymond Green in the beginning of January, the Warriors have been able to recover nicely after it looked like they would struggle greatly without the six time all defensive player. Their strong home record and recent winning streak make them tough opponents but the visitors will have a few things going for them. Brooklyn will have the former MVP and nine time all-star James Harden returning to the starting lineup as well as the mercurial Kyrie Irving, the former being allowed to participate only in away games. Irving looks like he hasn’t missed a beat, averaging a solid 23.4 points per game, 5.1 assists and is shooting above 50% from the field in his seven games since returning. The Nets have actually been a better road team this year and hold one of the league’s best away records at 17-6. Of course the Nets are still without superstar Kevin Durant, who was just named the East all-star captain, after suffering a knee injury in the middle of January.

Our Golden State Warriors vs Brooklyn Nets Prediction
While the Nets have been struggling since the Durant injury, the presence of Harden and Irving should be enough to at least keep the Nets competitive in this one. Add to that a stable of savvy veterans on this Brooklyn team and this current point spread appears to be a few points too high.
