by Joseph King | in NBA Predictions
A 2022 NBA Finals rematch sees the league’s best record in the Boston Celtics face off against the defending champion Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center in San Francisco. Boston has 21 wins from their 26 games after their latest blowout win against the Suns and have been on a roll as of late, winning eight of their last 10. They’ll be out for revenge against the team that denied them their first title in 14 years when they head out west. The Warriors have struggled this season as they attempt to defend their crown. Golden State sits at .500 with 13 wins and 13 losses, putting them 11th in the Western Conference.

Golden State Warriors - Boston Celtics: Form Analysis
The Celtics carry a three game winning streak into this matchup after a 125-98 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. The win was their eighth win in the last nine outings as well as their 11th win from 13 home games. They’ll be on the road for this game, although the Celtics haven’t seen much of a drop off in form as the road team, with 10 wins from their 13 trips. Golden State will be looking to recover from a two game losing streak after falling to a one point defeat to the Utah Jazz 124-123. The recent losing skid has meant that the Dubs have now won six of their last 10 after a previous strong run of form had them above .500. Golden State have looked like a completely different team on their home court this season as they have won 11 of their 13 games compared to just two of 13 as the visiting team.

Golden State Warriors & Boston Celtics Squad Analysis
The Warriors were without three key starters in the loss to the Jazz as Curry, Green and Wiggins all missed out. The performance was impressive given the short-handed squad that they had as they nearly managed to steal a win. Golden State will expect to have both Curry and Green back for this game but still look set to be without the services of the versatile Andrew Wiggins. On the other side, Boston will likely be without big men Al Horford and Robert Williams, the latter who has proved to be particularly influential on the defensive side of the ball in recent seasons.

Our Golden State Warriors vs Boston Celtics Prediction
We’re going to back the Celtics to win the game and cover the -2.5 point spread in the process. It’s not often we’ll go against the Warriors playing at home but this is one of the exceptions where we believe the visitors are rightly favored. Boston is playing the best basketball in the league at the moment and look unstoppable as of late while the Warriors are not the same squad that won the title last season. Each will have to deal with missing a key player but the Celtics are better equipped to overcome it as things currently stand.
