Monday night in the NBA sees a Western vs Eastern conference battle when the Golden State Warriors host the Atlanta Hawks at the Chase Center in downtown San Francisco. The defending champions are on the path to turning their season around after a current four game winning streak has brought them to above .500 with a record of 19 wins and 18 losses. Golden State’s last outing ended in a 118-112 home win against the Portland Trail Blazers, their fourth in a current lengthy eight game homestand. The showdown against Atalanta in tonight's game will be the Warriors fifth in a row in front of the home fans as they look to add yet another win to their stellar home record of 16 wins and two losses. 

Standing in their way is a Hawks team looking to get back in the playoff picture after a recent three game losing streak has dropped them out of the top eight in the East and below .500. Atlanta sits in ninth-place with 17 wins and 19 losses following their 130-121 defeat to the LA Lakers on Friday. The loss was the latest in a run that has seen Atlanta drop four of their last five games, with their only win in the last 10 days coming against the Detroit Pistons on the 23rd. The Hawks can at least take confidence from the fact that they have fared very well against Golden State in recent seasons. Atlanta have won four of their last five meetings with Golden State, going 1-1 at the Chase Center during that stretch after a 124-108 win back in 2021. 

Golden State have performed remarkably well over the last week despite the massive injury blows they have suffered. Two-time MVP Steph Curry has missed the last eight games and will be out for this one as well as influential two-way player Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga and big man James Wiseman. The Hawks come into this matchup in a much better place health-wise, as they are only likely to be without Clint Capela and Deandre Hunter. 23-year-old Jordan Poole has stepped up in a big way for the champions, dropping 40+ points in two of the Warriors last seven games.
