Gloucestershire vs Derbyshire Prediction & Betting Tips - T20 Vitality Blast
by Steve Ashfield | in Cricket Predictions
By the time this game begins, three of the four Vitality T20 Blast quarter finals will have been played. The final one sees Gloucestershire host Derbyshire with both teams having their eyes set on reaching finals day at Edgbaston later this month. The winners of this game will take on Essex in the semi-finals with the final played later that day. Gloucestershire have the home advantage as they finished second behind Sussex in the Southern group. They won seven of their 14 group matches, losing three, having three rained off and a tie. Michael Klinger is going to be a key player for the home side. He's scored 356 runs in 11 innings and hit a century against Kent. He followed that up with 48 against group winners Sussex as Gloucestershire won away at Hove. They will be looking for more wickets from David Payne who has 16 wickets so far in this competition at an average of 20.06.
Derbyshire finished third in the Northern group with 16 points from their 14 games. They won seven, lost five and lost two to the good old English weather. Their net run rate is only 0.022 compared to 0.242 for their opponents in this quarter final. One of their key players is Wayne Madsen who has hit 400 runs in 12 innings with four half-centuries. Leus de Plooy has scored three half centuries in this campaign. Gloucestershire have home advantage and that could be vital. They lost out to eventual winners Worcestershire at this stage last year, but can reach finals day with a win here.
