Gianluca Mager vs Gael Monfils Prediction & Betting Tips - Sofia Open

Gael Monfils is the second seed for the Sofia Open. The Frenchman faces unseeded Gianluca Mager for a place in the semi-finals against either eighth seeded John Millman or unseeded Marcos Giron. Monfils is the world number 20 but began the year in 11th place. He's up to 65th in the Race to Milan but isn't going to be in the ATP Tour Finals this year. Monfils did show signs of a return to top form in Metz last week, reaching the semi-finals and before that, the last eight in Toronto. This week has seen him yet to play a match. He received a first round bye and then a walkover against Ilya Ivashka.

Gianluca Mager has been working a lot harder though. The Italian knocked out sixth seeded Adrian Mannarino in the first round and then Miomir Kecmanovic in round two. Both matches were won in straight sets. The world number 78 began the year 101st in the rankings, so it's been a good year for the 26-year-old. He lost in the first round in Metz last week and had just a single victory in six matches before arriving in Sofia.  Back Monfils to get the win here.
