Germany vs Switzerland Prediction & Betting Tips - Euro Handball

Hosts Germany take on Switzerland in Group A of the Men's European Handball Championships. The other countries in this group are France and North Macedonia with the top two going through to the main round. Germany are the hosts of these European Championships and it's a title they have won on two previous occasions. The first of those titles came 20 years ago and the other in 2016. The final was also reached in 2002 and that was a significant year for the Germans. Sweden won the European title that year and that's the last time the hosts have lifted the trophy. Germany will certainly be hoping to repeat that achievement and should have few problems qualifying for the main round. The problem for them is that it's only points against other qualified teams that are carried forward and Switzerland are unlikely to qualify.

In terms of points earned in previous European Championships, Germany are sixth but Switzerland down in 23rd place. This is their first appearance in the finals of the Men's European Handball Championships since 2020 when losing two of their three matches. This is their fifth appearance in the finals of the European Championships but they have never won more than one game when getting through. At least they have qualified, that hasn't been the case in the Olympics since 1996 and the World Championships since 2021. We go for Germany to get their campaign off to a winning start and back them to win on a -3.5 goal handicap.
