Germany are top of Group A after the first three games of this Olympic tournament. Their penultimate match is against Spain and the Hispanos are in third place, only behind them on goal difference. Time to tell you our prediction.

The Germans men's handball team are top but might not be when this match begins. Croatia can go ahead of them if beating Sweden in the earlier game on Sunday. It's a tight group with the top four all on the same number of points and no side is undefeated.

Germany made a strong start to this Olympic tournament with wins over Sweden and Japan, the bottom two sides in the group. Their second match against Japan saw them score 25 goals in the second half of the match. 

They couldn't make it three wins in a row though with Croatia beating them by a five-goal margin on Wednesday. After this match against Spain, Germany end the group with a match against fourth-placed Slovenia on Sunday.

Spain are also on four points but their goal difference is five below that of Germany's. They had to come from behind to get a win over Slovenia in their opening group fixture. That was followed by a three-goal loss to Sweden after being level at the break.

Wednesday saw them back in winning ways with a 37-33 win over Japan who have lost all three of their matches in this group. Spain have won three of their last four matches against Germany, though the most recent was won by the Germans. We tip Germany to get the win here.
