Serbia dropped to the third-place playoff match after losing to the USA in the semi-finals while Germany came undone against hosts France. Germany were defeated 73-69 while Serbia went down 95-91. These two nations have played each other six times before but this will be the first time they are doing so at the Olympics.
Germany have the head-to-head advantage, having won four times in this fixture and are favourites to win. NBA stars Dennis Schroder and Franz Wagner have anchored Germany’s offence in Paris. Wagner is putting up a team-leading 18.6 points per game on average while Schroder is registering 18 points. The two are the only players in the German team averaging double-figure points.
Schroder notched 18 points in Germany's semi-final loss to France but shot an inefficient 33.3% from the field which includes 27.3% from deep. Notably, he only managed to dish out four assits, his lowest total of the 2024 Olympic Games so far.
Serbia's tally of points per game at Paris is bettered only by the USA.

Three-time MVP Nikola Jokic will obviously be the main man for Serbia and is nearly averaging a triple-double with 18.8 points, 10.4 rebounds and 8.2 assists. However, the 29-year-old has been ice-cold from three-point range and is shooting only 12.5% from beyond the arc.
