Hosts France will continue their Olympics Women’s Basketball campaign with a quarter-final tie against Germany. The winner of this third competitive encounter between the two nations will play either Spain or Belgium in the semi-finals. Germany lost their final group match 87-68 to the USA who secured top spot in Group C ahead of the European nation. Lisa Thomaidis’ players had begun the country’s Summer Games debut with successive wins against Belgium and Japan.
