World champions Denmark bid to win their first Olympic title since 2016. To do so they must beat Germany in Sunday's men's handball final. Both these clubs won their semi-finals on Friday but only by one-goal margins..
The Danes have won the world title for the last three tournaments, dating back to 2019. This year’s Euros saw them lose in the final and that was also the case in the last Olympics. They will be determined to go one better on Sunday and take home the gold.
Germany are in their first Olympic final since 2004. Twice they have won the silver medal but are yet to win the gold. Their last medal came in the 2016 Olympics in Rio when they took home the silver. Earlier this year, they finished fourth in the Euros and were quarter-finalists in the 2023 World Championships.

Germany - Denmark: Form Analysis
Denmark won Group B in the Preliminary Round and won all five of their matches. Victories came against France, Egypt, Argentina, Hungary and Norway. They ended that group with a +32 goal difference.
In the last eight, the Danes took on Sweden and had their toughest match of the tournament, winning by a single goal. That took them into a semi-final against Slovenia that they were always in command of but a second-half Slovenian comeback saw the Danes eventually win by just a single goal.
Denmark have won the last three World Championships
The Danish side have won each of their last ten matches and are unbeaten in their last 12 internationals. Having been crowned world champions in the last three tournaments,they will be going all out to ensure they return home with an Olympic gold medal.
Germany topped Group A in the Preliminary Round. They won four of their five matches with victories over Sweden, Japan, Spain and Slovenia. Their only loss came in the third match played when being beaten by Croatia.
In the quarter-finals, the Germans had a tough match against France. At the break they were three goals behind but managed to fight back to force extra time. Eventually, they won the match 35-34 with Uscins in top form with 14 goals in that match.
It was another tough battle in Friday’s semi-final. They trailed Spain in the second half but another great comeback saw them win the match by a single goal. Although only one of their last ten matches has been lost, they have lost their last two against Denmark, who we tip to win on a -3.5 goals handicap.

Denmark have plenty of firepower that is likely to be put to good use in this Olympic final. Mathias Gidsel has scored 51 goals and that puts him just two behind Slovenia's Aleks Vlah who is the current top scorer in this tournament.
Also chasing the top scorer title is Denmark's Simon Pytlik who has a total of 48 goals so far. The top German goal scorer is Johannes Golla but he's only hit 36 goals in this competition. In terms of goalkeepers, Germany's Andreas Wolff has a 35% save record and his team will need to see that rise this Sunday.
