Gasquet vs Andy Murray Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open
by | in ATP French Open Predictions
Gradually it seems to be coming together for Andy Murray. After those two five-setters in the first couple of rounds, the number two seed has been steadily improving and looked really good in his wins over Karlovic and Isner. Now he has to break French hearts by disposing of Richard Gasquet in the quarter final. He's 7-3 up in their head-to-head history but has won seven of the last eight meetings with the French world number 12. The last time Murray lost to Gasquet was on clay in 2012 in the Rome Masters. Murray soon got revenge though with a four-set win in the French Open losing the first set 6-1 and then winning the next three only losing seven games. The Frenchman has taken a set off Murray in the last five games that have made it on court (one win for Murray was a walkover). This should be a tough game for Murray and he won't need a return to that form shown in the first two rounds. Gasquet has had two big wins here already beating Nick Kyrgios and then Kei Nishikori who he'd lost to twice already this year. This could well be a four or five set match but I feel Murray is improving and he can get the win here.
