Gael Monfils vs Vasek Pospisil Prediction & Betting Tips - Open Sud de France

Top seed Gael Monfils is the favourite to win the Open Sud de France in Montpellier. He takes on Vasek Pospisil who caused a shock on Saturday when knocking out second seeded David Goffin. Monfils has only dropped one set on his way to this final. That came in his first match as he took on Adrian Mannarino and had to come from behind to avoid an early exit. Since then, he has had straight sets wins over Norbert Gombos and seventh seeded Filip Krajinovic. Monfils is ranked ninth in the world and reached the third round of January's Austalian Open losing in three sets to eventual runner-up Dominic Thiem. 

Vasek Pospisil is ranked 132nd in the world but miissed half of last year due to a surgery he had on a herniated disk. 2019 had a better ending though as he won tournaments in Las Vegas and Charlottesville (highest ranked player beaten 99th) and then teamed up with Denis Shapovalov to take Canada to the final of the Davis Cup, where they lost to Spain. 2020 began with a run to the last sixteen of the Auckland Classc (losing to Shapovalov) but he lost in the first round of the Australian Open to Ivan Karlovic. This week has seen hin in good form including geting revenge on Shapovalov with a straight sets win in the second round. The quarter finals saw him beat Richard Gasquet who lost the first set and then retired early in the second. Then Pospisil had a big win over second seeded David Goffin winning in three sets. This is only his second appearance in a top level final but Monfils has had better form and can get the win.
