Gael Monfils vs Roberto Bautista-Agut Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Mallorca Open

Sixth seed Gael Monfils faces unseeded Roberto Bautista Agut for a place in the last four of the Mallorca Open. This is in the bottom half of the draw and the victor will meet either fourth seed Alejandro Tabilo or unseeded Jakub Mensik. Monfils is up to 39th in the live rankings and no seed will fancy being drawn against him in the first round at Wimbledon. The 38-year-old hasn't been at Wimbledon since 2021 and the only time he reached the fourth round is six years ago. The last two years haven't seen him play on grass and this is his first tournament on this surface in 2024. He's had wins over wild card Dominic Thiem in straight sets and then beat unseeded Roberto Carballes Baena, also without dropping a set. 

Now he takes on another Spaniard, this time former Wimbledon semi-finalist Roberto Bautista Agut. He's fallen down the rankings since reaching that semi-final six years ago. Winning his two matches this week have taken him up to 112th in the live rankings. So far in this grass court season he's also made it to the last 16 of the Libma Open. Two years ago he was the runner-up in the Mallorca Open. This year he's beaten Taro Daniel for the loss of just one game but had a far tougher time in the second round. He lost the first set to second-seeded Ugo Humbert but then won the next two sets for the loss of seven games. Agut trails Monfils 4-1 in previous meetings but this is their first match in five years and they've never met on grass. We go for Monfils to win this match.
