Gael Monfils vs Felix Auger Aliassime Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Rotterdam

Gael Monfils won the Rotterdam tournament last year and has to defeat Felix Auger-Aliassime on Sunday to retain that title. Monfils is ranked 9th in the world and in 2019 beat Stan Wawrinka in last year’s Rotterdam final. This week he has beaten four unseeded player and like his opponent has smiled as other top seeds fell by the wayside. 2020 has seen Monfils struggle in the ATP Cup and Australian Open. Last week though, he won the Open Sud de France but the highest ranked player beaten was Filip Krajinovic, who he also beat in Saturday’s semi-final.

19-year-old Felix Auger-Aliassime is ranked 21 in the world but will be up to at least 18th after this run to the final in Rotterdam. He was unseeded for this tournament and looked as If he was heading for an early exit. The Canadian had to go to three sets to beat Jan-Lennard Struff (who he lost to in the ATP Cup last month) in the first round. Since then, he has had wins over Grigor Dimitrov, Aljaz Bedene and in the semi-final, Pablo Carreno Busta. All were won without the dropping of a set but he has been lucky with seeds such as Stefanos Tsitisipas, Roberto Bautista-Agut and David Goffin all being knocked out. This is his second ATP 500 singles final and has also reached two ATP 250 finals, losing all of them. Monfils may struggle against the very best but up against lower ranked players, he is more dependable and can get the win here.
