The Brawo Open final will be contested on Saturday by fifth seed Pavel Kotov and the unseeded Franco Agamenone. This will be the first final of the season for both players. Franco Agamenone defeated qualifier Benjamin Hassan in the semifinals in straight sets. He dropped five games in the contest to win his first match in Braunschweig without dropping a set. Agamenone has had a shaky campaign and only his performances on clay have kept him going. He has lost more matches than he has won and has a 16-18 record. This however should not be an issue here as all 16 victories have come on clay. The Italian is a strong performer on the surface on which the majority of his ITF and Challenger titles have come. He has however gone more than a year since his last final. Advancing to the final has seen him move up 23 places to 152nd in the live ranking.

Pavel Kotov is now up to 89th in the live ranking which is a new career high placing for him. The Russian is also playing in his first final since last season. He has won his last three challenger finals, one on clay, and will hope for the same outcome here. Kotov has fared better than Agamenone this year and his performances at the Brawo Open highlight this. He has won three of his four rounds without dropping a set. To advance to the final, he overpowered unseeded Thiago Seyboth Wild 2-0 with the second set requiring a tiebreaker. This was his 31st victory of the season and the 18th on clay. Kotov is in his debut tournament in Braunschweig.
