Miami Open 12th seed Tommy Paul will face off with Francisco Cerundolo next at the competition. These two clash in the third round and will be meeting the winner between Casper Ruud and Alejandro Tabilo. We have the prediction for this match below.

Cerundolo is making his fourth appearance at this event. He will be looking to better the semi final finish he managed in 2022. He reached the third round in 2024 and looks to do well this time, having graced the quarters in his last four ATP events.

In his previous meetings with Paul, the Argentine has been a dominant figure, winning four of the six. In the second round, Cerundolo saw off Alexandre Muller in straight sets

While Cerundolo leads in head-to-head meetings, he lost in their only hardcourt encounter. Paul will be keen to win in their second meeting on the same surface, though his record in Miami isn’t very impressive.

This is his sixth appearance here and he has never gone past the fourth round. In the 11 matches he played at this event, he managed a shaky 6-5 record.

Paul’s highlight for the season has been two semi-final appearances at Adelaide and Dallas. The American has so far compiled a 13-4 record, and is 13th in the live rankings.
