Francisco Cerundolo vs Jaume Munar Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cordoba

Top seed Francisco Cerundolo faces unseeded Jaume Munar for a place in the Cordoba Open quarter finals. This is the first ATP Tour event of this year's South American clay court season. Cerundolo has been as high as 19th in the rankings but is currently in 22nd place. He reached three finals last year, winning two of them and that included the clay court Swedish Open. He was also the runner-up in the 2023 Argentinian Open. Clay is his best surface and he got to the last 16 of the French Open last year. He's talented on other surfaces though and won a grass court tournament in Eastbourne, England last year.  2024 didn't start well for him on the hard courts in Hong Kong, New Zealand and Australia  with only one of his four matches being won. Those were on hard courts but last week saw him back on clay representing Argentina against Kazakhstan in the Davis Cup winning one and losing the other.

Jaume Munar has had three previous matches against Cerundolo and is still waiting for his first victory. All were on clay and two losss came last year including a four set defeat at the French Open. Maunar is at 74th in the latest rankings and won his first round match against Daniel Elahi Galin in straight sets for the loss of only six games. That was his first match of the year on clay. Before that he'd won two of six matches played on hard courts and like his opponent made it to the second round of the Australian Open. We go for Cerundolo to justify his seeding and win this match.
